Chief Financial Officer

Doreo Partners is seeking an experienced finance professional to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will develop and implement our finance strategy, lead our finance team and manage all internal and external activities relating to finance. In addition, the CFO will be responsible for raising new capital from the capital market, managing existing financial resources prudently, overseeing the audit of all organizational financial and sales activities, ensuring all financial and accounting systems are managed efficiently and effectively, supporting the CEO to develop and manage the organization’s budget, and managing the substantial financial and human resources his/her team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementing our finance strategy, lead our finance team and manage internal external activities relating to finance
  • Raising new capital from the capital markets, structuring bonds and equity partnerships
  • Managing organizational planning and budget development, with the CEO.
  • Treasury management
  • Cash flow and cost management
  • Providing management and leadership on a day-to-day basis for the Audit, Accounting, Budget Implementation, Financial Control, and Investor Relations & Fundraising Units.
  • Defining, measuring, and improving targets and goals for organizational units and senior team members.
  • Providing comprehensive, accurate and timely quarterly and management reports on the status of company finances and activities.
  • Developing the financial infrastructure to support organizational growth and development.
  • Managing numerous existing investor relationships and partnerships while cultivating necessary new ones.

QUALIFICATION

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field (Master’s degree in finance and/or MBA preferred)
  • At least 6 years of senior financial management role in an agriculture-related business or NGO (agribusiness fundraising experience highly preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills: Fluent oral and written English.
  • Experience managing the financial and fundraising activities of a social entrepreneurship.
  • Experience raising and obtaining bonds, debt, equity, or grants for a social entrepreneurship or financial services/financial inclusion.
  • Experience in risk management, financial control, and/or audit for a social entrepreneurship, Micro-finance Institution or Bank, or agricultural NGO.
  • Experience building and managing a multi-disciplinary and diverse workforce
  • Experience using a range of financial and accounting software and tools
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds

Financial Analyst

ABOUT THE POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business or Economics
  • 1-2 years work experience (preferably with accounting experience)
  • Should have an understanding of IFRS Accounting Standards
  • Proficient in Excel Spreadsheets, MS Office and Financial Software applications
  • Bear strong analytical skills
  • Very good oral and written communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and monitor operational data to determine costs of operations and establish standard costs.
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting financial data
  • Maintain day- to-day general ledger accounting by entering, verifying and backing up data.
  • Support costs analysis process, implement financial policies, provide trends and forecast analysis to management.
  • Provide creative solutions to reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Conduct financial processes and procedures, prepare reports and supporting documents and provide regular updates to Finance Team.
  • Consult with the finance team to guide and influence long term strategic thinking
  • Review monthly expenses to ensure that expenses are booked correctly and work with the finance team to make any necessary reclassification.
  • Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed
  • Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Managing Director to Fundraise for portfolio companies
  • Develop and implement the company’s investor relations plan
  • Pitch Nigeria’s first social impact bond to new investors both nationally and internationally
  • Build and maintain investor portfolio
  • Prepare quarterly investor statements highlighting financial and social impact
  • Serve as the key point of contact for the investment community
  • Oversee the production of all annual reports and management accounts
  • Organize conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings
  • Provide feedback to management regarding the investment community’s perception of how the company is being managed, and their view of its financial and impact results

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
