Kola Masha speaks at the 2012 Standard Bank West African Investors’ Conference

Speaking at the 2012 Standard Bank West Africa Investors’ Conference, on 28th February, 2012, Kola Masha highlighted the growth potential of the agricultural sector of Nigeria as one which can serve as an engine for job creation and economic development.

It was further highlighted that Agriculture in Nigeria, despite its challenges, is fundamentally the bedrock of the economy accounting for 40% of the GDP. It should be regarded as a fundamental business – potentially a $10 billion investment revenue creating mechanism.

Mr. Atedo Peterside, the Chairman Stanbic IBTC Bank and Cadbury Nigeria, gave a welcome speech. Insight on various economic issues were provided by other key speakers including Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prof. Bart Nnaji, Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms. Aruma Oteh and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Oscar Onyema and Dr. Doyin Salami, Economist and Senior Lecturer at the Lagos Business School.
